About the Committee
The PUG UK & Ireland User Group depends on the support and dedication of its committee members. If you are part of the Progress community and would like to become more active and involved in the running of the User Group, then please consider joining the committee by completing and returning the nomination form.
The committee communicates mostly by conference calls approximately once per month, each lasting up to an hour. Face to face meetings are kept to a minimum and normally arranged to coincide with events to minimise impact of travel and time out of the office. Like any organisation, there are various roles to be played as follows:
- Membership Secretary
- Website Coordinator
- Product Coordinator
- Events Coordinator
plus Ordinary committee members who do not have a specific role but give their support by way of their opinions and experiences. There is a permanent Administrative office providing the Secretarial role and supporting the committee members reducing their administrative workload and allowing them to brainstorm their ideas. The only qualifications you need to be part of the Committee are your experience in the Progress marketplace and your enthusiasm to make the User Group the communication tool of choice within it.
At this time, we are particularly looking for non-OpenEdge users and end user volunteers. Preference will be given to these applicants.
Are you interested?
If so, please download and complete the nomination form and send it to the PUG Administration office.
The current committee is able to co-opt additional members to the committee during the year. Once we have received your application, one of the committee members will be in touch with you to discuss your application.
