“WebAssembly: Why it matters to OpenEdge developers” by Nick Finch (CTO of DataPA). This 1 hour webinar was held on Thursday October 20th at 2pm. Originally heralded as the future of the web, WebAssembly has already broken free of its origins as a useful browser-based technology and now powers some of the world’s most complex distributed applications, from streaming platforms like Disney+ to e-commerce powerhouse Shopify.

In this session we explored the origins of WebAssembly, why it’s generating so much excitement and, more importantly, why it matters to OpenEdge developers. We looked at at examples of how we can build modern WebAssembly front ends for our OpenEdge applications today, and speculated on what might be possible in the future.
